A lateral apartment in a Victorian red brick mansion block, which offered a rare opportunity to work in a property which remained untouched for half a century and although un-modernised was in remarkable condition.
The brief for this breath-taking project included significant structural alterations, emphasising the grandeur and proportions of the living spaces and bedrooms. The use of steel box frames and beams to open up the spaces and increased door opening sizes create an openness to the apartment and additional pockets of space filled with exceptional joinery. Bronze crittal style glazed doors draw the natural light through to the impressively wide entrance hallway. The extremely high standard of finish and fit out has been created with the collaboration of international design teams, specialising in natural stone and timber finishes.
